The multi-talented director Axel Ranisch is known for his films and productions in which he mixes high culture with B-movie motifs. This time it's about a migrant from Estonia who finds herself with obvious amazement in a world where her workplace neighbor belts out a birthday aria for her, pickpocket Kolja makes her forget his theft with a rousing street dance performance, and she herself becomes competition for a saturated opera diva. As an Estonian Amélie in the wonderland of the German culture industry, Nele becomes an observer of her own life and that of her contemporaries, from tomboyish talent agents to gospel preachers. An up and down between rip-off artists and fellow sufferers, daydreamers and soulmates, just like in real life. Feelgood with a lot of imagination, side blows on the kiss-ass society and a quiet observer who turns from a wallflower into a muse.

Axel Ranisch - Axel Ranisch was born in 1983 as the child of two competitive athletes in Berlin Lichtenberg. He spent a large part of his childhood with his waltz-dancing grandparents. After many years of critical distance to the medium film, Axel shot his first short film by accident in June 2002 and was from then on incurably infected with the film virus. In the following years, he shot about 80 of his own short films and several others with participation as an actor, writer, composer or editor. Axel studied film directing at the University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam Babelsberg from 2004 to 2011. Although his films were perceived as controversial at the university, they were screened at over a hundred small and large film festivals and regularly received awards. Axel's first feature film DICKE MÄDCHEN was celebrated at many film festivals around the world. His next feature films REUBER, ICH FÜHL MICH DISCO and ALKI ALKI were also shown at several film festivals and were loved by the audience.
