The debut film of the scriptwriters Natasha Merkulova and Alexey Chupovopens opens with the shot of a naked male body being prepared for cremation. A photographer, he used to take pictures of people’s intimate parts, photos they would give to loved ones or keep for themselves to overcome their own sexual inhibitions. The film unravels the sexual frustrations of the man’s friends and customers, who now attend his funeral, including a particularly frustrated bureaucrat boldly portrayed by Julia Aug, who previously starred in Alexey Fedorchenko’s OVSYANKI (SILENT SOULS).

Natasha Merkulova, Alexey Chupov - Natasha Merkulova – born 1979 in Russia. In 2008, her documentary short film TRAUMATISM won the special jury prize at the film festival Kinoshok. Her short feature DAUGHTER was screened in the programme ‘The New Russians’ at the film festival in Cannes in 2009.
Alexey Chupov – born 1973. Author of the first Russian internet sitcoms “In Contact with the Classmates” and “All the Truth About Eve” as well as of several TV-series for Russian federal channels.
