Drumming on Tin
Officially named the "Jazz-Werkstatt Peitz", this was in fact the legendary Woodstock of the East, to be found in Peitz, south-eastern Brandenburg, in the seventies and eighties. Both indoors and out, complete with tents and picnics out in the open. This was followed by the Jazzpodium Cottbus, at once popular with fans and slandered as counter-revolutionary by the authorities. In this retrospect on the Cottbus-based music underground founding-fathers such as "Jimi" Metag and Jörg Tudyka, as well as musicians, artists and fans look back on what once was. In word and original concert footage a GDR subculture is brought back to life.

Donald Saischowa - – born 1963 in Cottbus. Completed a salesperson apprenticeship in the fields of radiobroadcasting and television engineering from 1986-88. Saischowa, who has been shootingdocumentary films since the mid-eighties, currently works as a freelance cinematographer,producer and is also the owner of DOSFILM.
