Trailer
The two young men have carefully planned their escape: like all other prisoners who work beyond the confines of the camp, the German guard allows Fredy and Valér to pass the first barbed wire fence. This time however they're not working; instead, they hide under a pile of wood with the help of friends. They need to sit it out like this for three days and none of the inmates are allowed to betray them: after the third day the guards will be withdrawn from the outer fence. And they can continue their escape, home, to Žilina, to inform the world about the crimes of Auschwitz. Will anyone believe the report however, or does it exceed the power of human imagination? In his depiction of everyday life in the camp, Peter Bebjak relies on colours that are only a shadow of themselves and close-ups of mistreated prisoners and their cynical guards. With his latest feature film he acquaints audiences with an almost forgotten story and a courageous act aimed at saving human lives.
