Trailer
This is the era of social media; it's remarkably difficult to build genuine relationships, no less so in provincial Poland: Aestheticised body images during church choir rehearsals, whilst hanging out in the local swimming pool, the garage, basement or on the balcony and at underground parties. The hormones run riot. Young Tomek uses online videos to practice cool dance moves yet doesn't dare show them. His sister Monika is finally together with Kuba, the neighbourhood's most popular guy. She soon comes to realise however that there isn't much more to him than his well-toned body and the hip moves. Director Dawid Nickel brings a lot of intensity out of his cast of actors: with a soundtrack and visual mood reminiscent of Xavier Dolan's early works he forms a music video that is as authentic as a stylish documentary. A modern and highly topical film about growing up in a small town in times of "LGBTQ-free zones".

Dawid Nickel - Born in 1988 in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Studied at the Faculty of Radio and Television at the University of Silesia in Katowice and Wajda School. Collaborated with Małgorzata Szumowska (Body and Mug). In his art, he’s drawn to characters whose image in Poland is filtered through stereotypes related to sexual orientation or low social class. Nickel’s debut Filipka is a documentary about his non-heteronormative, gender-fluid friend. The film premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
