On her first visit to the new school, Zsófi notices a rehearsal of the school choir. She is so enthusiastic that she wants to join in with the singing right away. The choir is known all over Hungary and has won many prizes. Another national competition is again in the offing, and this time, there is the prize of a trip to Sweden. A tempting prize for all the participants: the first time that they would be going to the West. But Zsófi's enthusiasm has already suffered a major setback after just the very first rehearsal: according to the ambitious choir mistress, her participation is dependent on a dubious condition. All those who are not musical enough should just pretend to be singing along. Zsófi is crestfallen, but her friend Liza rebels.
