A 16-year-old boy, called Badylok (that's how a useless plant stem is called in Upper Silesia) lives with his family in unimaginable poverty. Water and damp cold permeate the dreary home. But the boy has a dream, he dreams of flying; up and away. A striking Icarus metaphor containing elements of the magical realism of Lech Majewski and Andrei Tarkovsky's existential melancholy. KM
