Ikar. Legenda Mietka Kosza

After losing his sight, his mother puts him in the care of nuns. And yet the boy refuses to accept his fate. In a home for the blind Mietek realises that music can be a way for him to see the world anew. On discovering jazz he has only one goal: to become the best jazz pianist in Poland. A rapid ascent follows, one that extends far beyond the borders of his homeland. Almost at the same time, however, a fight against his inner demons begins: loneliness, addiction and lovelessness and a descent into alcoholism. Surprisingly, hope springs forth in the person of charismatic singer Zuza, who will change his life forever. A film about the price you have to be willing to pay if you want to make your dreams come true; at times monumentally drastic and bitter before reverting to the frivolous and funny. A roller coaster of emotions with the simply outstanding Dawid Ogrodnik in the lead role. And above all, the (re-)discovery of Kosz's wonderful music. JJ
