The Flying Circus
Priština shortly before the beginning of the Kosovo war. Four young actors from the Dodona Theatre, which has just been closed by the Serbian authorities, are invited to a theatre festival in Tirana to perform their latest play. The journey through the conflict area is hazardous, and yet they decide to risk it. They illegally cross the closed border with Albania. It takes a strong sense of intuition to find out whether the bizarre characters they encounter want to help or rob them. Their goal: to meet Michael Palin. The former Monty Python member is currently shooting a documentary in Albania. After all, the quartet's work was heavily influenced by the British comedy troupe. Fatos Berisha's film is based on autobiographical experiences, as he himself undertook a similar journey in the late 1990s. Back then, Monty Python-style humour helped him cope with the surreal, conflict-ridden world that surrounded him. NaF
