After a concert, successful pop singer Marco Hoffmann is caught up by his past: his ex-band colleague Wolle wants to speak to him. The two had a rock band in the GDR; yet while Marco went on to make a name for himself, a failed escape attempt ended in a prison sentence for Wolle. Even having been bailed out in the West, and after the collapse of the GDR, Wolle was never able to get his life back in order. He suspects Marco spied on him as an unofficial collaborator; in his Stasi files Wolle believes he has found clear evidence that points in that direction. Marco denies everything however. In a late-night argument both of them, at times desperate, at others sadistic, take on the roles of the interrogator and the interrogated. Do the secret service’s files tell the truth? Is Wolle suffering from a psychological ailment? Does the change of system mean a chance for one person and the end for another? A captivating, psychological chamber drama complete with crime thriller elements, in which Florian Martens stands out in his role as an idealist who feels aggrieved by fate. WMH
