Fulldome – 3D in der Kuppel

Fulldome – 3D in The Dome

Germany, Thailand, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, France, USA, 2018 - 2019, 62 Min

Full dome screenings in the planetarium combine the visual experience of the 3D format with the uniqueness of a visit to the cinema: immersive cinema in public spaces. In the meantime, fulldome cinema has evolved into a synthesis that combines elements of video art and even certain narrative formats, as pixels, shapes, molecules dance across the screen, evolving into myths and stories before subsequently disintegrating in a return to reality. Fulldome artists explore the possibilities of the genre. At times with psychedelic colors, at times as a richly varied retelling of a scientific explanatory film that introduced generations of children and adults to the fascinating infinity of time, space and nature. It is thus that consciousness is expanded in a manner that is compelling, playful and artistically diverse.

The programme was compiled by the FullDome Festival Jena.
