The two men from the Laestadian religious movement – a Lutheran sect – were literally massacred. While searching for the murderer, Räihä and his senior colleague Sanna Tervo from Helsinki have to deal with anti-religious activists, a Turkish mafia which wants to drive its Iraqi competitor out of the pizza business, and a dubious businessman who intends to build a shopping centre on a greenfield site without any money. In addition, there are private problems: Lauri has hit his male partner and stopped going to the couple therapy. Sanna has an abysmal relationship with
her daughter.
The six-part series, produced by the producer of ETERNAL ROAD (FFC 2018), has won several awards, including the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize at the festival in Göteborg in January 2019. WMH
