Adam Kruk is a police officer in a crisis. The new case takes him to his old home town of Podlasie in north-eastern Poland. Kruk is there to solve a kidnapping. Seeing the places of his youth again evokes agonizing memories: mental scars are reopened, and the seemingly intact world of a children's home becomes the scene of the crime.

What begins as a classic crime thriller about cigarette smuggling culminates in a psychological drama revealing the darkest sides of human activity. The world in RAVEN is full of bizarre moments, disturbing subplots and an antagonist who represents a kind of personified subconscious. The six-part series is a puzzle where the viewer – following in Adam Kruk's footsteps – constantly gets bogged down in false assumptions, and has to rearrange and piece the events together in order to understand the world.
