Remember your youth. You sneak home on a summer's afternoon. Add to that the cramped high-rise apartment with its yellowed carpets and your heroes adorning the walls. Life could be worse. Your older sister is annoying, but saying that you can always withdraw to your room and listen to music. Things are different today however, as the lonely ring of a mobile phone next door suggests. At times youngsters have to grow up abruptly and decide upon a course of action within a split second. NORMA ZHIZNI speaks of this and simultaneously provides a remarkably accurate portrait of a handful of youths from contemporary Russia.
