Anton, a wonderful yet introverted pianist, lost both of his parents to a car accident several years ago. Since then his sister has evolved into the person, he enjoys the closest emotional attachment to. Recently, and without providing any reason, he resigned from his job at the philharmonic orchestra. In painstaking fashion, the superintendents attempt a step-by-step reconstruction of the young man's life, and these investigations lead them to a recent romantic acquaintance, an old schoolfriend, an idyllic convent located by an artificial lake and the news that Anton was suffering from a fatal illness. Time and again however the investigators sense that they are only learning half the truth. Anton's brother-in-law conceals the more-than-familial relationship between brother and sister, as well as his own health-related problems, the latter the cause of a chain of events with serious consequences amongst friends and family.
This directing debut from actor Dorian Boguţă (BREAKING NEWS, FFC 2017) features a suspenseful narrative which, though presented laconically, represents a focused and meticulous study of investigative work, as well as the mysteries of everyday human coexistence. WMH
