Richard knows exactly who killed the judge Kowalský, but he wants to protect his daughter Lili with any means and looks for evidences against others. Some would have a motive for the murder: the jealous wife, the ex-inmate Matěj, whom Kowalský put behind bars, or the entrepreneur Dostál, who planned very dubious businesses with the judge. While Richard gets entangled in more and more lies and violates moral principles for the sake of his daughter, he doubts whether Lili has told him the truth. It gets even more difficult when he turns his colleague Tomáš into an enemy. The three episodes of the coherent TV series by the Slovak master of moral abysses Peter Bebjak show investigators and suspects, as they get into ever new borderline situations. The shabby corners of the Silesian industrial city of Ostrava provide a perfect backdrop for the action of all the internally neglected heroes. CF
