“Peking” is a worker’s district in Katowice – half fallen down brick tenements, bare and neglected. The majority of the inhabitants has alcohol problems, their apartments are filled with junk and their lives are robbed of any hope. The mini portraits of the peoples from Peking, recorded on camera, are pure misfortune and a shocking testimony of poverty accompanied by degeneration and death.
PEKING 2008 is a ruthless social report from behind the facades of Silesian Poland, full of social difficulties, which takes the viewers breathe and empathy away.
