Michał is a star architect, introverted and rich. His son is a promising, young musician and filmmaker, and his wife Marta is well on the way to establishing herself as art curator. Suddenly, the young, seductive ballet dancer Julia appears and shakes Michał's well-calculated world of aesthetic algorithms. The family crumbles like an Upper Silesian streusel cake. Soon, their seemingly perfect world will be in ruins.
In LOVE IN THE CITY OF GARDENS, it is not the region that is in crisis, but man and his system of values. The film sets itself apart decisively from the previous cinema from Upper Silesia, as with Kazimierz Kutz or finally Maciej Pieprzyca, where family and religion form a solid foundation for cohesion.
