Trailer
Among her birthday presents, Joanna finds a video denouncing her husband Jan as an informer, assigned to her father, who was then a critical politician. In an interview, a former Stasi officer claims that the husband was conceived as a lover for the politician’s daughter and then married to keep her father under observation until his death. Joanna urges her husband to make a public statement, but he trivializes the matter as nonsense. The fact that he wants to let the accusation rest on himself becomes a burning acid for her trust in their once harmonious relationship. She distances herself more and more from him, leaves the conjugal bedroom, and finally the apartment. She even finds herself exposed to the subtle methods of former Stasi officers. An emotional ordeal for which there is no clear result. The question remains as to what’s more important: the possible betrayal or the years spent together? KF
