Valery Lavrenov goes to war voluntarily and has the camera of his girlfriend with him, the director Anastasiia Starozhytska. In the battles for Ilovaysk in the Donbass in August 2014, where the Ukrainian troops meet pro-Russian separatists, he loses his comrade, called Airplane. When Valery returns to his girlfriend, they try to continue living together and to cope with everyday life. They talk openly about their feelings and go to the scenes of war, which has just moved on. But how can love alleviate the memories of what happened, and even survive the trauma? But even apart from the twosome, the film gives insights into a country torn apart by war. Between coping with everyday life and anxiety. Between search for a mobile phone charging cable and the burial of the dead. Between resignation and hope. NaF

Anastasiia Starozhytska, Mariia Starozhytska - Anastasiia Starozhytska – is a trained journalist. She works mainly as a screenwriter. In 2012 she made her debut as a director with the short film DEADLINE.
