Trailer
Manana is tired of her role as mother and housewife life and instead wants to be a writer. She is supported by a neighboring shopkeeper, who believes in her talent. When the family learns of it, conflicts arise, because Manana's closest relatives are the basis of the secret novel she is writing. Manana feels the mental and physical pressure. Even her father is manipulated by the husband to save the situation. The shopkeeper sets up a room in his shop, where Manana can sleep from now on and quietly pursue the writing. But unfortunately, the publishers he contacts do not share his opinion about the work. Undeterred with a desire to publish the book he gets a printing press to print the work on his own. The director succeeds in creating an impressive portrait of a woman who constantly doubts herself, between madness and genius. Delicately, she draws Manana's liberation from conservative structures to self-realization. MM
