Trailer
"Just shoot everyone. Rescue us from this misery”, growls a neighbor, as Vele seeks a hiding place for the gun with which his father just wanted to commit suicide. The despair sits deep in the hearts of Vele’s fellow human beings. Crime, low wages and the ailing health system leave little room for hope. But, as is often the case, those most in need of a miracle are most willing to see one. Vele’s "magical" cake is a new sign of hope in the fight against diabetes, rheumatism, the morning hangover and homosexuality.
Despite the miserable situation of its protagonists, director Gjorce Stavreski manages to tell a story with a lot of heart, humour and intelligence. The well-known Eastern European gallows humour alternates with real drama and credible tension. A cleverly constructed Black Comedy with an outstandingly authentic and enjoyable father-son relationship. DJ
