Trailer
Blaník, who likes to celebrate himself as the return of the legendary Czechoslovakian founder Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, uses any means on the way to the top of the state. He steals ideas from his competitor Miloš Zeman's election campaign and mobilizes his own mother to kick off a smear campaign against the candidate Jiří Drahoš. Only the resurrected President Havel (Marek Daniel in a double role) succeeds during a late-night meeting to appeal to cynic Blaník’s conscience. The film, based on the Czech Internet cult series KANCELÁŘ BLANÍK, captivates with a quick succession of skits and a true firework of (delusional-) funny ideas and jokes. It was filmed during the presidential elections in 2018, with supporting roles filled by Czech VIPs and real presidential candidates. The theatrical release was just a few days after the real elections, and to have a satirical comment on the outcome of it on the screen, the film crew created several versions of the end. CF
