ZIMNA WOJNA

During Polish reconstruction, the composer Victor searches for traditional melodies in order to found a new dance and music ensemble. Among his students is Zula. Beautiful, ravishing and energetic, she soon becomes the centre of the ensemble and the two fall in love with each other. As her repertoire becomes increasingly politicized, Victor uses an appearance in East Berlin to flee to the West. Zula doesn’t take the “journey” and yet fate brings the lovers together again years later. Victor meets Zula in Paris, and the heat of their love remains bright, but also tears the couple appart. Zula must make a profound decision. Between home and exile, France, Yugoslavia and Poland are the setting for this fatal love story of a couple who cannot live without one another and yet find almost no peace with each other; all with the background of the Cold War.
