From then Nadeshda has to give up on her big dreams of a career. Privately Vladimir also distances himself from her. She returns to Irkutsk and crestfallen retires to her apartment. When she meets the somewhat successful ice hockey player Sasha, hope is reborn within her. But is her love strong enough to have success on the ice again?
Oleg Trofim’s well-made and entertaining film brings the viewer along with its representation of sporting ambition and a touching love story. In the film, pathos and national pride display their impact and are underlined with cult music that everyone can sing along to. It’s a roller-coaster of emotions. MM

Oleg Trofim - born in 1989, he graduated from the Faculty of Directing Film and Television at Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts. He then worked for several years as a director in the advertising industry, including for Hype Production, and produced several music videos. ICE is his feature film debut.
