Two brothers, one widowed, the other married, two cousins who growing up like siblings, a young wife who is expecting a child from someone else, but won’t mention his name. And there’s a veterinarian who has never carried out an abortion on humans, a maliciously destroyed fishing net, a shot and someone who goes to prison for it although he didn’t kill anyone. Svetislav Dragomirović takes a calm and slow approach with few protagonists for a family drama in the country, which is his directorial debut at the Belgrade Film Academy. Adopting an unusual narrative style, he creates a gloomy atmosphere of lies, aggression and self-destruction, bigotry and old dependencies where violence is always present. Many years later, the former child is still struggling as a young adult with his guilt. The landscape with its reed banks, forests and farms becomes another protagonist in this impressive genre picture from the north of Serbia. WMH

Svetislav Dragomirovic - born in 1989 in Belgrade, Yugoslaviy (today Serbia). He studied directing at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade. Since then he has made several short films. HORIZONS is his feature film debut. He is the founder and director of the production company "Gray Tree Film".
