Despite their young age, Buddy and his friends from the West Coast crew already have serious problems: Mary grew up without a family in an orphanage, Hugo is mute, Foxy is bullied as a lesbian, Brko is discriminated as a Roma. But when they dance, everyday life is far away. A victory in the Super Dance casting show could change their whole lives. But the jurors are cynical and hard, they are mainly interested in audience numbers. To stop them dropping out, they also start digging around in the young dancers’ private lives. Their friendship is consequently severely tested.
After looking at doping methods in the Communist sports system in her successful film FAIR PLAY (FFC 2015), director Andrea Sedláčková has focused once again on unfair competitions – this time in the tough business of casting shows. Her actors include professional hip-hop dance crews who deliver dynamic performances, including the impressive backdrop of the High Tatras. CF

Andrea Sedlačková - born in 1967 in Prague, ČSSR (today Czech Republic). She began studying screenwriting at the FAMU in Prague before emigrating to France, where she studied editing and directing at the FEMIS in Paris. In addition to her work as a director, she is known above all as an editor, among others for LOVE ME IF YOU DARE. She lives and works in Paris and Prague.
