"A gull in need of help that you have to take care of, is already enough", the father sighs. In spite of his derogatory remarks, he is noticeably attached to the fate of the "rat with wings". Especially because it is a welcome invitation for him to take care of something other than his health and its potentially fatal consequences.
Co-director Maria Popistașu also takes on the leading role in her debut film and credibly portrays the alternation between worry, emotional amusement and insecurity that accompanies the difficult phase when children begin to take responsibility for their parents. DJ

Maria Popistașu, Alexandru Baciu - born in 1980 in Bucharest, Romania. She is a trained stage designer and actress. She has been honoured as "Best Actress" at various international film festivals. THE SEAGULL is her debut film as a director.
– born in 1977 in Bucharest, Romania. He first studied directing, then public relations and communication. He has been working successfully as a screenwriter for many years, especially in collaboration with his friend and director Radu Muntean, who has been a guest at the FFC several times. THE SEAGULL is Baciu's short fiction debut.
