PHILIPP
PHILIPP

First and foremost Bernd considers himself a friend of his fifteen-year-old son Philipp who, constantly in the shadow of his notoriously sensible father, reacts with aggressive defiance and a pronounced indifference. A soberly directed character sketch focusing upon the rupture in the parent-child relationship characteristic of puberty, here tied together with Philipp's first love; hampered, as with much else in life, by reserve and inhibition. The process of growing up as it really is: irritable, bored, often lacking the right words, interspersed with psychological depth and subtle irony.
