Amar, a colourless book-keeper for a pharmaceutical company, learns that he has terminal stomach cancer. Thereupon his alter ego, the bon vivant in worker's clothes, comes forward. He writes up a list of his ten most important wishes, from purchasing a car to reconciliation with his brother and the issue of love. He makes acquaintance with the latter in the person of Tatyana, a prostitute of Russian descent. Before saying goodbye to life Amar has learnt to live. Entertainment with philosophical depth and a remarkable Bollywood soundtrack, whose title combines the Russian word for farewell, "Dosvidaniya" with the Hindi term for ten, "das".
