ŠAMAR

As Hrvoje one afternoon prepares to leave the house he stumbles across his father in a drunken stupor on the couch. The thirteen-year-old has no money and judging by the empty wallet, neither does his father. Thereupon he collars the neighbours' son Britvić, who has been sent to the shops by his mother, and proceeds to harass him. Other boys from the neighbourhood join in and thus begins a spiral of adolescent violence via which above all Hrvoje is able to take out his frustration on others. A portrait of everyday life in drab New Zagreb.
