Fuke visits his uncle and aunt in a rural suburb of Sarajevo in order to repair their boiler. Idriz and Sabira’s lives have not been the same since they lost their son in the war. Aware of the old couple’s pain, Fuke sets about exploring the happier past. A psychologically perceptive and affectionate portrait emerges from the detailed, almost documentary-like observation of the day-to-day life of the afflicted pair, presenting in a Bosnian-Herzogovinian setting a universal tale of ageing and the search for human solace.
