KAKO UBI SVETEC

HOW I KILLED A SAINT

Teona Strugar Mitevska
Macedonia, Slovenia, France , 2003, 90 Min
Sisters and Brother Mitevski Production

Returning to Skopje after three years in America, Viola finds that NATO has been called into the war between the Macedonian army and the Albanian NLA, and that the mental equilibrium of her country and family is shattered. Encouraged by war profiteers, her little brother Kokan is becoming a terrorist. The misguided path of its protagonist is shown as a character study, reflected in the consternation with which Viola views her former home as she futilely attempts to find out the reason for Kokan’s changed personality.
