“For the Albanians we’re Greek, and for the Greeks we’re Albanian.” Three friends who live in southern Albania as members of the Greek minority cross the border in search of work. In Greece they meet with suspicious glances and the manoeuvres of the authorities. FROM THE SNOW was the first Greek film to address the ambiguous relationship of Greece to its Albanian neighbours. A solemn and moving depiction of a trio of refugees who believe they’ve reached the “promised land” but are only at the beginning of a journey with an unpredictable outcome.
