The yuppie couple Pavel and Eva are enjoying a long-awaited yachting holiday. Urgent business obliges Pavel to terminate the tour prematurely – not for the first time. Suddenly an elderly man appears on the quay and decides to help the young couple resolve their crisis – even against their will and using radical means.
A renewed encounter with the stranger within ourselves, TRZECI alludes to Polanski’s famous Nóz w wodzie (knife in the water, 1962). It film leaves the viewer with a similar feeling of unease.

Jan Hryniak - born in 1969 in Warsaw. After studying architecture, he enrolled at the Polish National Film School PWSFTViT in Łodz. He produced a number of screenplays, documentaries, commercials and video clips, then in 1997 made his feature debut with PRZYSTAN, which won numerous awards. TRZECI is his second full-length film.
