When a second child is born to her parents, Ann begs the Devil to bring about her new brother’s death. When the baby duly falls ill, the girl is racked by guilt. She seeks contact with the church and with dubious clairvoyants. Finally, she ends up in the clutches of a Satanist sect, where she meets Maya...
Playing with repressed adolescent angst, the film asks at what point people must assume responsibility for themselves and their decisions. In a world where envy and loneliness are integral parts of human nature, the protagonists have to find their own way of keeping a smile on their lips.
