RIORITA
RIORITA
1944, shortly before the end of the “Great Patriotic War”, as it was known in the Soviet Union. The peasant Pichugov and his three sons live in a small Belorussian village now liberated from German occupation. The four men find themselves conscripted to a division involved in a successful westward assault. Corporal Bakhatov, formerly a guard in a camp for political prisoners, is a member of the same division, and begins to play an evil game with the four naive and ignorant Piguchovs.

Piotr Todorovsky - born 1925 in Bobrinets, USSR (now in Ukraine). As a director, screenwriter, cameraman, composer, singer and teacher, he won a number of prizes. In 2000, he received a special award from the Russian president for his outstanding contribution to the development of Russian cinema.
