In this tale of a sporting if slightly dysfunctional family, the silver trophy awarded by the Soviet-Latvian shot-putting championships plays a fateful role. The newest family member is Bogdan, an exchange student from Ukraine, who survives a very close shave with a fork. It’s spoons only from then on, while meantime the hapless husband tries to trade names with his neighbour. The absurd situations keep coming – but laconic brevity wins the day.

Elīna Ļihačeva - born 1978 in Riga. She studied social work, followed by film studies at the Latvian Academy of Culture in Riga. She is currently enrolled at the University Baltic Film and Media School in Tallin. She works as an artist, photographer and director.
