Tavi, a divorced father in his late 30s, sees his daughter Alexandra only on set days. An argument breaks out with his wife when suddenly the little girl stops calling him Papa and uses his forename instead.
An oppressively normal study of the breakdown of exclusive parent-child bonds in a patchwork family. A straight-from-the-battlefield, almost documentary-like study of the rancour, jealousy and estrangement between former partners, and of Tavi’s barely restrained grief in which futile rage vies with resignation.

Radu Jude - born 1977 in Bucharest. After film studies at the Media University in Bucharest, he was assistant director for a number of domestic and international productions. Since 2003, he has shot several internationally successful short films as well as a television series and advertising clips. He is currently working on his first feature THE HAPPIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD.
