When Mrs Goldberg moves house, she presents seven-year-old Felix with a chest full of old toys. The contents of the bulky piece of furniture open up a wonderful world of magic for the youngster and his friends Sina and Thomas. Wolf the plumber however also takes an interest in the beautiful old objects and hopes to make a little money with them on the side.
Within the framework of this enthralling mystery film, told from the perspective of the children, the question of the relationship between non-material and material values is explored. A subject, raised here in the cultural atmosphere of late eighties East Berlin that has to this day lost none of its relevance.
