aufbruch 89 – dresden aufbruch 89 – dresden – epilog

Beginning on October 4 1989 a group of students in Dresden began to document the peaceful revolution. Aspects they were unable to film were recorded and are presented here in the form of sound bites from diverse sources such as police radio, church services and interviews conducted at the time. Thus an authenticity so convincing is produced, that the viewer can't help but be grasped by the spirit of the time. The film tells more than any conventional retrospect can do because it affords the viewer the opportunity to feel, think and almost have the sense of participating in the events portrayed.

In a retrospective epilogue filmed in January 1990 those people who were reluctant to be filmed back in October comment on the events portrayed.
