Movement and standstill, observation and fixation portrayed across a parallel projection consisting of two visual spaces, shot with Super-8 film. On German reunification Knoefel logically resorted to video, replicated here in all its potentialities.

York der Knoefel - born 1962 as Jörg Knöfel in Potsdam. Has since his photographic installation "Schlachthaus Berlin" (1986-1988) worked on a series of solo and group exhibitions. Spent the years 1994-1999 working in New York. Currently active as a video artist in Berlin.
