Tamara works as a nurse for the elderly in Italy, without any social protection. She thus provides for her family back in their Georgian home town. When her husband dies she can't return immediately, because she's residing in the EU illegally. A portrait of the lives of those left behind at home.

Salomé Aleksi - born 1966 in Tbilisi. Studied from 1982-1988 at the Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Arts. Worked from 1988-1992 as the art director of the "Georgian Film" studio. Then studied at the Paris film school LEMIS, graduating in 1996. Worked as a reporter at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg from 1998-2000.
