In the 1990s Yusuf, a university student, ends up in an Istanbul prison because of his political activities. When, for health reasons, he's released ten years later, he returns to his home village on the Black Sea coast, close-by to the Georgian border. In the meantime however much has changed and Yusuf struggles to make friends, until one evening he meets Era, a prostitute from Georgia. It's the beginning of a friendship that is largely defined by political boundaries established during the Cold War.
A powerful parable about an individual's search for inner self, set in the context of a changing world order.
