The two brothers Igor und Mikhail play for their local ice hockey team in the Russian province. When one day a talent scout from the American National Hockey League (NHL) turns up, their brotherly love is put to the test: Igor is offered a highly promising contract to play in American league. Without his headstrong brother he doesn't however want to leave his homeland, yet Mikhail hasn't a chance of making it as a professional in the NHL because of his alcohol problems...
