Trailer
Vlada Senkova was given $2500 by her mother. She always had dreams of becoming a filmmaker, and now she has put her plans into practice, with this thought-provoking film that is guaranteed to set viewers' hearts aglow. Just like her five teenage heroes: growing gradually closer to realising a dream, or understand that these will never come to fruition? Coming-of-age and gaining a feel for the limits and scope of human potential are always and everywhere challenging processes, perhaps nowhere more so however than in a country which, though home to a wonderful music scene, which in fact comes across in the film, doesn't otherwise have a great deal to offer in terms of glitz and glamour, namely Belarus.
A midsummer journey of self-discovery, romantic encounters in the hay and chance meetings that leads the Polish production team to offer a piece of part-consolatory, part-pragmatic advice: “Love your homeland as it is, it's the only one you've got”. BW
