In its next edition, the FilmFestival Cottbus will show a country special dedicated to the film country of Belarus. A lively, independent film scene has been emerged there recently, whose work has already been successfully screened in the national competition of the Minsk "Listopad" film festival. One of the representatives is the filmmaker Vlada Senkova, whose first feature film COUNT IN ORANGES ran at the FilmFestival Cottbus in 2016. Sebkova was awarded with the Cottbus Discovery Script Doctoring Award. Marcel Maïga, who also curates the "Russian Day" at the FilmFestival Cottbus, will be compiling the program of the country special Belarus. From the 5th to 9th April, he visits Minsk to scout for films, attending the international short film festival "Cinema Perpetuum Mobile".
