The main prize of the 57th International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, was awarded on Saturday evening to the Bulgarian-German film "Blagas Lessons" by director Stefan Komandarev. Lead actress Eli Skortcheva was named best actress.
In the film, retired teacher Blaga falls victim to a telephone scam. In response, she resorts to immoral means herself. The main prize is worth the equivalent of around 22,800 euros.
The festival is one of the oldest in the world. Traditionally, the Cottbus FilmFestival holds a reception there every year for invited industry guests.
