Cannes International Film Festival

Cannes International Film Festival

The world's most influential film festival is taking place for the 77th time this year.

The international film scene came together once again in Cannes in the south of France. It was not just about red carpets and glamor, but also about new trends and business.

Producers, distributors and festival organizers came together at the Marche du Film to look for good films and new deals, while difficult topics were often discussed in the cinemas, in line with the global situation.

This year's edition was again characterized by a mixture of old masters - Coppola, Cronenberg, Kostner - and young talents, the films were received differently, it was probably not the best year ever in Cannes.

The FFC territory was hardly represented in the official program, but offered a highlight in the "Un Certain Regard" section with the captivating Latvian animated film FLOW.

Bernd Buder and Joshua Jadi were on site for the FFC and met with producers and representatives of film centers to find out which films will be ready in November. There are many promising projects, some of which will certainly see the light of Cottbus screens from November 5-10.
