A first look at our International Festival Jury 2024!
The international festival jury of FilmFestival Cottbus 2024 brings together experts from all over the world who, with their extensive knowledge and passion for film, contribute significantly to the selection of the festival's best entries. These jury members come from different areas of the film industry, including directing, production, screenwriting and film criticism, and bring a variety of perspectives and cultural backgrounds to the evaluation of the films.
With Sonora Broka, Christina Groşan, Anja Matković, Inna Sahakyan and Xavier Henry-Rashid, we have been able to attract great voices from the film world to the FilmFestival Cottbus:
Sonora Broka is the artistic director of the Riga International Film Festival (Riga IFF), editor and presenter of a weekly cinema programme and a member of the European Film Academy.
Christina Groşan is a Romanian-Hungarian director whose film Ordinary Failures premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
Anja Matković is an award-winning Croatian actress, screenwriter and star of our opening film `My late Summer´, who has also competed as a professional alpine skier.
Inna Sahakyan is an Armenian documentary filmmaker. Her award-winning film Aurora's Sunrise has been shown at over 75 festivals worldwide.
Xavier Henry-Rashid is the founder of Film Republic and specialises in international film distribution and co-productions.
The International Festival Jury ensures that the best works of the current film scene are recognised and promoted.
